My goal this Valentine's was not to shower them with Valentine's presents. The only gift they got was a homemade card from me and a cookie. Instead I wanted them to spread the love to other people. We decided to create simple bookmarks this year and deliver them to a nursing home down the street. I wanted my boys to understand how the folks at this center might not have a Valentine and that it might mean a lot to them if Tyler and Dylan made them something really special. The boys were excited about this and I think they got the overall message. We dropped the bookmarks off and while we didn't get to see them being delivered we talked about what the residents would say when they got them. It was cute to hear how excited this made my boys.

Love it!!! great idea!!! we did tons of service this year too! I love when your kids see the value of doing things for others! I do 3$ gifts because my kids LOVE their cheapy stuffed animals and play with them non-stop but also think teaching them to serve others is so awesome!!1
