8 years ago this morning I was waking up to room service anxiously awaiting for my bridesmaids to get to my room so we could giggle and chat and get ready for the BIG DAY! I had butterflies in my tummy about the day. Not butterflies about marrying you just about tripping on my long train or having to dance with everyone watching us.

What comforted me the most was knowing you would be standing at the end of the aisle looking at me with your giant smile.

What an amazing day. I will never forget it. If I could do it all over again, I would, every.single.day!

Thank you for the best 8 years of my life. Thank you for being a wonderful husband and father. I look forward to so many more years with you.

Happy Anniversary my love.

Listen to my body.

I have been sluggish lately, thinking maybe I was working out too hard. Went to the doc the other day and was told I have a sinus infection and double ear infection. Wonderful. I guess with all the infections going on around here (with the boys) it was only a matter of time. Thankfully I was given a Z Pack and feel 100xs better today!

It's Paul's turn now.

Welcome to Suburbia

So my bro and sis (in law) are soon to be homeowners! Their offered was accepted on a house they have been waiting to hear from. Yippee! They are so excited. We are excited too as it's only 10 minutes from the beach and it has extra bedrooms so the whole fam can come down! Just kidding W....well not really.

W&K- Welcome to the world of mortgage payments, mowing the lawn every weekend and actually having to fix things when they break!

Congrats you guys we are happy for you.

Coming out of the closet

A friend asked me the other day: "so why do you enjoy running?"

Me: "well to be honest it's the only time I get to listen to my hard-core rap music with explicit lyrics."

So there: I like rap music. I like rap music with LOTS of swear words. I love to run to it, it makes me run faster and harder.

Do I play it in the car? No.

Does it get played through any speakers? No just headphones.

Don't hate me.

Mom(s) go pick your jaws up off the floor.

It's still light out.

I feel a little guilty with this whole time change. My boys start baths at 7:00 pm and it's usually lights out by 7:30(D) and 7:45(T). With the longer days it's been hard to have to put them to bed at those particular times. Tonight T goes "is it really bedtime because the sun is still in the sky!"

I admit, it is nice to have them both waking up at 8:15 each morning! I feel like I am not jolted out of bed with D crying. I can actually get up, shower and have breakfast ready for them.

MOB Squad

M--- MOMS
O---- ON
B--- BIKES

Some people hire babysitters to go have drinks, dinner or dancing.

We hire a sitter to go bike riding.

It's become a weekly event to hire a teenager in the neighborhood to come over for about an hour to play with our kids.

I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful this hour and a half is for us. It is something we look forward to all week and to be honest the kids love it. They look forward to their Morganne Sundays! It's not a bad gig for a teenager either....I mean come on it's a little over an hour on a Sunday morning around 10:30. Seriously what else is a teenager doing at that time besides sleeping? It's not like we are tying up her Friday or Saturday nights. And we all pitch in so she takes home a pretty decent chunk of change.

We are always recruiting new bike riders. If you live in the area and have a bike- join us!

Winter Fun

Had a hard time labeling these "Winter Fun." But I guess we still have a few more weeks until Summer...yes Summer.

We don't get a Spring when you live on the Surface-of-the-Sun.

Fab Five Fav's

Fab Five Favorites

I meant to start doing this at the beginning of the year…. So what if I am 10 weeks late? At the beginning of each month I am going to post what my current obsessions are. Maybe it’s something you have never heard of and want to try. Maybe you’ll get a good laugh, maybe you’ll say oh gross, who knows. Here goes:

1) Daily Mile.com- I love this site. It tracks your workouts. You enter in all the info and pretty much anybody can see it. Logs your miles for the week, month, whatever. It keeps me honest. It makes me actually want to workout b/c it is posted for all the world to see! Weird, I know.

2) Vitatops- LOVE THESE! They are the muffin tops that won’t give you a muffin top. The chocolate ones are the best. They are only 100 calories and have lots of vitamins and fiber loaded into them. They can get pretty pricey but Costco now sells them for a great price. My treat at night is one of these with a tablespoon of whipped cream on top…YUMMMM.

3) Pouch Baby Food (Ella’s Kitchen, Plum Organics etc). I can’t say enough about these. Honestly they are the only way I can get D to eat fruits and veggies. He won’t really eat anything “cut up” other than beets or tomatoes (random huh?) but he’ll suck these down in about 2 seconds flat. If this is what it takes to get him to eat his fruits and veggies; he’ll be getting these until he’s 16. Don’t laugh, but I know moms who give their children baby food and the kids are 6 and 7 years old!I usually wait until these go on sale to buy them. I find the best deals on Amazon or at my local Ralph's when they go 10 for $10.

4) Lipton Green Tea – read that Green Tea helps with belly fat. So if I drink a gallon a day will that help? Maybe I am a too little addicted to it. Is that why I can’t sleep at night?

5) GU Brew- I am finding that the harder I workout the more calories I will need. During those long bike rides or spin classes water alone just won't cut it. Besides you need calories and electrolytes to keep going. Some runners love those gel packs and swear by them. Personally that is like eating Aqufresh Toothpaste in the middle of your workout. Barf! I found that GU makes an electrolyte powder that you mix into your water bottle. Electrolytes help with muscle fatigue and cramping. It will give me that boost to not “poop out” at the middle to end of my workout. Flavors that I like: Blueberry Pom or the Rasberry. Orange is decent but reminds me of the pregnancy diabetes test and the Lemon Lime is just plain gross.

Cute and Eco Friendly!

My folks are officially cool! Their big purchase yesterday... and it's not an "old person's car either."
