Monday Motivation?

I need some Monday Motivation today. It's the Monday after Thanksgiving and I haven't ran since last week. I did pretty good until Thanksgiving day (with what I was eating) and then came Thanksgiving and I ate and ate and ate. It.tasted.good. I could go on and on about all the bad things I consumed last week but I won't (Del Taco).

Today is a new day and it's time to get back into my training groove. A few people asked me if I would take a break from all this training during the Holidays but I don't think I can. Once I take a break it's really hard for me to get back into it. It's days like this that turn into weeks, months and then all the motivation and hard work is gone.

And that is where I am today. I am not motivated to do anything today except maybe put on some Christmas carols, make some hot chocolate and decorate the house. I am lacking the motivation to get out and exercise.

But I know from past mistakes that I need the run for a healthy me. I know how good it makes me feel later on in the day and that is why I will do it. Even if it's a slow run the benefits I will receive from it will outnumber the negatives and the guilt from not running.

  1. Right now I'm more of a 17 minute mile person :)
    I'm up for the 1/2 marathon next year - sent you an e-mail. Now to get a good training program for after the baby's born.
