Last night we had the opportunity to witness over 100 firefighter musicians gather in "the square" to play Amazing Grace. It was an impromptu session but as soon as people heard these guys start playing everyone dropped what they were doing to witness this.
I also have to acknowledge how proud I am of my town and entire state of Arizona. I have seen so many people come together in this time of crisis. I have witnessed strangers hugging each other because they don't know what to say to one another. I have seen firefighters come as far away as Yuma, Glendale and Tucson to help us out with the day to day activities so our guys/gals can have a chance to grieve for their fallen brothers. I have seen 19 flags on every major corner along with homemade signs in almost every neighborhood of Prescott. It makes me proud to live in this community. It does however feel as if time has stood still for the past 9 days. But I guess now it's time to move on and enjoy life ahead, but one thing is for certain every time I pass Granite Mountain I will ALWAYS remember those heroes and what they did for my town.
