Grab a cup of coffee and let's chat! If we were having coffee I'd tell you that my half Ironman is a month away and I'm stressed. My heart just isn't into this race. Right now I'm just going through the motions to finish. I'm way too stubborn to back out so that isn't an option for me. I'm stressed about it being 100 degrees on the course that day. I'm stressed about not making the bike cutoff and I'm stressed about running a half marathon if I have a miserable 56 miles bike segment. I'm bummed that my training partner had to pull out of the race a few months ago. It's not her fault she took on some huge projects at work and couldn't find the time to train. But I'll be honest it makes me sad to know that she won't be there and that I can't cheer her on at the finish line.
If we were having coffee I'd tell you that soccer season is in full swing for both my kids and I'm having a blast being a soccer mom! I don't mind all the practices and games, they are a lot of fun. And I'm enjoying getting to know the other moms on the team. I think it's going to be a fun season.
If we were having coffee I'd tell you that my in-laws just spent a week with us and they were visiting for the sole purpose to house-hunt in our area. It looks like they'll be moving to our town and this makes me happy. I love my in-laws and will enjoy having them live close to us. Family is everything and as I get older I am realizing that more and more.
If we were having coffee I'd tell you that it's been raining so much here. Our normal brown hills are all a beautiful vibrant green. I love that! I ran on a trail yesterday and spotted so many new lakes and ponds along my run! It was strange to see lakes in places where it's usually just a flat meadow. I hope the rain keeps up because Arizona can use it.
