The last couple days have been rough with the kids. They are really getting on my every nerve. D has been mimicking T so they are constantly battling with one another. Yesterday morning started out rough and never got any better. It wasn't as bad as the "old days" as I describe in this week's Luna Post but it was still hard.
As you can see I still get bad days. It's not even close to what it had been years ago but it will always still haunt me. Now it's just a matter of recognizing those feelings and not allowing them linger on and on. Once those feelings are recognized I now know what it takes to rid of them.
Yesterday when I woke, I didn't feel like going to workout at the gym because I was sore from a new Mommy Boot-camp class I have been taking. But after witnessing the kids bickering back and forth, I decided it was time for Child Watch. I dropped them off, paid my 3 bucks and took the ENTIRE 2 hours I was allotted.
Did I workout? Not really, sue me. But I showed up with 4 gossip magazines and sat on a recumbent bike for those 2 hours and half-assed peddled away. I read every single page of those magazines and then went and picked my kids up. I felt a thousand times better after that.
Today was a new day and a better one. I had a chance to chat with my brother on the phone for about an hour and everytime I get off the phone with him he always makes me feel better. I hope he knows how much he means to me and how our conversations always brighten my day.
T met a new friend today in the neighborhood (actually we had met then before) but this was the first time we invited the little boy over to play. They rode bikes for awhile and now they are playing outside on the swingset. This makes me really happy as T really needs more friends in the neighborhood.
P comes home tonight just in time for Father's Day. Tomorrow we head to Flagstaff for some camping.
Happy Father's Day to all the Dads and soon-to-be Dads. Put your feet up, relax, don't worry about the lawn , or anything that needs to be fixed and go grab a cold beer!
